RauhRacing celebrates a dream debut weekend with the all-new Renault Twingo prototype — fully compliant under the 24h Nürburgring Special Regulations — taking two class wins and setting a strong first benchmark in its very first race outing.

After more than a year of development, the little green Twingo finally hit the track — and immediately made an impact. The debut took place at the NATC in Oschersleben, marking the car’s first official race weekend and its first step into real-world competition. Despite being completed only days before the event, the car delivered a remarkable performance, winning both sprint races and showing promising pace across all sessions.

“Our focus this weekend was to learn, gather data, and understand how the car behaves under race conditions,” says team co-founder Filip Rauh. “That we managed to do all that and come away with two wins is beyond what we expected — it shows the potential of this project and the work our small crew has put in.”

A Strong Debut for a Fresh Build

The Twingo competed in three sessions: Sprint Race 1 (P1), Endurance Race (DNF), and Sprint Race 2 (P1).
In the endurance race, the team retired after 22 laps — just one lap short of classification — due to a suspected issue with the steering column. The team chose to pit immediately to investigate, prioritizing safety and long-term development over taking risks for a finish.

“The goal was never just to see the checkered flag,” explains Felix Rauh. “It was to bring the car home safely, collect clean data, and learn as much as possible. That mindset will make us faster — and stronger — in the long run.”

Even as a rough prototype, the Twingo proved competitive against established touring cars. Considering its origins as a small city car and the fact that this concept has never been raced before, the debut showed enormous potential. With the data gathered in Oschersleben and targeted improvements over the winter, the team is confident that the Twingo will be on par with dedicated Cup machinery next season.

Learning, Refining, and Leveling Up

Following the debut, the team has already identified key areas for optimization ahead of the 2026 season.
Over the winter, RauhRacing will focus on:

  • Upgrading the braking system beyond the current Clio setup
  • Revising ride height and body clearance for improved handling
  • Implementing a limited-slip differential to increase traction and stability
  • Fine-tuning electronics, mapping, and data systems
  • Exploring suspension upgrades and chassis reinforcements
  • General quality-of-life improvements for driver operation and reliability

“These learnings are gold,” says Felix. “We now know exactly where to improve — and every fix we make will bring us a big step closer to where we want to be next year.”

A Warm Welcome and a Fresh Breeze in Motorsport

Beyond the results, the emotional highlight of the weekend was the incredible response from everyone at the track. Fans, marshals, and even rival teams celebrated the Twingo’s debut — cheering on every lap and stopping by the paddock afterward to take photos and share their excitement.

“The feedback was overwhelming,” says Filip. “People told us it felt like a breath of fresh air — seeing something different, something fun again. That’s exactly what we want to bring back to motorsport.”

RauhRacing also thanked the NATC organizers for providing a friendly, open, and creative racing atmosphere — a welcome contrast to more restrictive series and a perfect environment for innovation and community-driven racing.

Next Steps and Acknowledgements

The winter break will see the Twingo undergo a significant upgrade program — including a reworked body kit, suspension overhaul, and possibly a sequential gearbox. With the first benchmark now set, the car’s full performance potential will soon be unleashed.

The team extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this debut possible — from the marshals and fans trackside to the NATC organizers for an exceptional event.
Special thanks also go to @motorwerk for technical support and our parts sponsors @bartek, @atl, and @ronal for their trust and collaboration.
